Curriculum

Al-Azhar Academy is dedicated to ensure students develop the knowledge and skills they need to become informed, productive, and responsible citizens. They are taught the full Ontario curriculum including French. 

  Students will be taught and practice the pillars of Islam, articles of faith, Islamic etiquette and manners (character building). They will also learn the pillars of Imaan, Seerah (Life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH); use effective communicating skills to recall information to relate the major events of early Islamic history (Makkah and Madinah periods) in proper sequence.

  The Quran curriculum includes Tajweed, Memorization, Word-to-Word meaning, and Tafseer. Students will work their way from the short chapters to the most difficult based on their level and speed of memorization; each student is taught individually based on their level. As they progress into the older grades, they will be able to fluently and independently read from the Quran with proper pronunciation and application of the recitation rules.
